If you want to change your life in one second, you do have that option.
The method is simple.
All you need to do is shift your perspective.
When you change your perspective, the world around you will change.
Let’s dig a little deeper into this….What are some ways that you can shift your perspective?
1. Focus on the Positive
Think about when you wake up- if your first thoughts upon waking up are that you don’t want to go to work that day, think about how lucky you are to at least have a job to go to.
What you see you will create more of….
If you start your day seeing a bunch of filth then chances are you will continue to see the same throughout your day. Try shifting your perspective to a different position by trying to think of things from a different way.
If you see challenges as being “stressful” then they will be stressful, you will focus on more of what you don’t want and it will produce more stress.
2. Practice Gratitude
I really try to spend my time not taking things for granted.
I know it is SO EASY to do- especially when we are constantly striving for more- as humans, it is only in our nature to want more… and that is okay… in fact to want more is GREAT!
I truly believe that it is so important to not take the simple things for granted, at the same time that we are wanting more.
3. Think About How Others May Have It – Recognize that Many Who are Worse Off are Still Happy
Think about how lucky you are to be able to get up in the first place- there are many people who do not have the luxury of “just standing up” as they are bedridden or in a wheelchair.
If all else fails, at least feel lucky that are not living in North Korea- you have the freedom to choose your own hairstyle, follow your passions, watch the shows that you want and are on the internet right now. The many people of North Korea do not have these simple luxuries.
I invite you to open your eyes to the world and not take for granted all that we do have. By being grateful and shifting your perspective your world is open to many new and wonderful experiences.
If you focus your thoughts to recognize everything that you DO have in your life, all the beauty that surrounds you (no matter how small at times) and what you want, you will notice over time how things start to change.
It all starts in this moment, at this second.
The shift can be instant.
The concept, albeit quite simple can prove to be challenging at times- I get this. And Rome was not built in a day. Keep trying to put the concept into practice as much as possible. When you do, be mindful and take the time to congratulate yourself.
If you continue to make no changes in your life, including this simple tip- that is fine by me. I am not telling you to do anything I am simply giving you a simple tool to bring with you throughout your day that only takes one second and can literally change your life.
I would love to know more about your personal experiences with this. Please feel free to leave a comment below 🙂

Andrea this is so true, its too bad that not everyone practices these and the world is full of anger :/
I have started to meditate and drink different types of tea. Do you happen to have any suggestions on how to deal with a heavy load of stress?
Hi Alex- happy to hear you have started to meditate! Exercise and meditation/mindfullness/hypnosis is perfect for stress reduction…. also make sure that you are sleeping well. If you are able to find the root of your stress you may want to look inward to see if it is something that your body is trying to tell you about a particular area of you life… feel free to get a free 1 week of my course here it has a free guided hypnotherapy audio that many people find helpful first thing in the morning and/or right before bed. Let me know how it goes!
